Today in History
President Ozan shared this historical event for October 6:
Farewell to Lisa Stark and Henry Rubin
Lisa Stark (Communications & Media) has been a Rotarian for over 22 years and a member of our Club for 10 of those 22 years. Lisa has been very active serving on Club Committees and always lending a hand when needed. Recently, she played a major role in a joint literacy project between our Club and the Catalina Rotary Club in Tucson. As the Grindings editor, I appreciate Lisa every week when I plan what to write for the next issue and can always count on Lisa to have snapped a photo that matches exactly what I want to describe. In fact, her photos tend to tell the whole story, and I don't need to write any more words.
President Ozan, Lisa Stark, and Henry Rubin
Lisa and her husband, Henry Rubin, came to San Francisco where Henry worked at KQED. Henry just retired, and now, Lisa and Henry are moving back to Arizona. Past President Bob Hermann, Jr. (Information Technology: Administration | Retired) and Dan Joraanstad (Financial Services: Advising | Retired) invited Club members to their home on October 2, 2026 to celebrate Lisa and Henry.

Scholarship Presentation
Immediate Past President Frank Yoke III (Development | Serra Residential Center, Inc.) presented a $1,500 scholarship to Aidan Liang of Lowell High School. Joining Aidan was District 5150 Interact Chair John Dean from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown. Congratulations, Aidan!
