The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Rotary Club of San Francisco was called to order by President Frank Yoke at 12:19 p.m. on December 16, 2025. Club Secretary Dora Dye confirmed that proper notice had been given to the membership and certified that a quorum was present to conduct business at this meeting.

The Rotary Club of San Francisco met on December 16, 2025 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel for our Holiday Party and Annual Meeting. The Welcome Reception included a photo booth, a wine pull, a chance to spin the wheel and win a Rotary prize, displays by several of our community partners, and of course, champagne. Guests brought toys that were donated to the San Francisco firefighters.

 

President Frank Yoke welcomed 60 members, one honorary member, and 41 guests to the party and meeting. Rick Harrell then entertained us with a combined version of Jingle Bells and the Dreidel Song, and guests were encouraged to sing along.

 

President Frank introduced the following guests: John Barrett from the Rotary Club of San Mateo; Gary Butler from the Rotary Club of Ignacio; Dr. Angelo Capozzi from the Rotary Club of Tiburon-Belvedere and his wife, Louise; Larry Clark from the Boy Scouts of America; AG Adele Della Santina from the Rotary Club of Belmont-Redwood Shores; PDG Chris Gallagher from the West Bay Rotary Club of Camden in Maine; Frank Goodyear from the Rotary Club of San Rafael Marin Evening; DG Mitone Griffiths from the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay; Mary Kay Kennedy from the Rotary Club of Menlo Park; PDG Peter Lagarias from the Rotary Club of San Francisco; Melissa Prandi from the Rotary Club of Mission San Rafael; PDG Eric Schmautz from the Rotary Club of San Francisco; and Karen Schmautz from the Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach in Florida.

 

Since 1987, the Rotary Club of San Francisco has honored members of the City’s emergency services. Emergency Services Day is one of our signature events. In 2026, we will be recognizing once again the important and heroic work by members of the San Francisco Police Department, San Francisco Fire Department, San Francisco Sheriff's Office, and the United States Coast Guard — Pacific Area.

This year instead of holding the event at a Club luncheon, we will have an evening event on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel in San Francisco that will be open to members of all the Rotary clubs in San Francisco as well as to the public and community-based organizations in San Francisco.

Gary Schlossberg joins us in the new year to deliver a 2026 economic forecast. He is a global strategist for Wells Fargo Investment Institute (WFII), a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.

 

 

Our Club will celebrate two holidays: Día de los Reyes (Three Kings' Day) and Día de la Candelaria (Candlemas). Both days mark the end of the Christmas season in Mexico and other Latin American cultures. Steve Adami, MPA, will talk about social justice and reform in San Francisco. He is the Executive Director of the San Francisco's Salvation Army's The Way Out, a recovery-focused homeless initiative.

Our January DEI Film Festival movie is The Long Walk Home. This powerful drama follows two women in Montgomery, Alabama during the 1955–56 Bus Boycott, one Black and one white, whose lives become intertwined during one of the most pivotal moments of the Civil Rights Movement. Following the screening, we will host a group discussion over beverages, snacks, and pizza. This is a great opportunity to reflect on the themes of the film and the continued relevance of the Civil Rights Movement today.

Join us for our Club's NEXT EVENING MEETING where we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at MoMo's. Please register yourself and your guests so that we can plan the space.

 

 

Join the Rotary Club of San Francisco's Social Committee for a performance of the Tony and Grammy Award winning musical, The Book of Mormon, on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Orpheum Theater. The performance is a 1 PM show. Dinner will be arranged after the performance. There are only 15 tickets for this performance in the Orchestra section. Ticket sales closed on December 19, 2025.
