The Rotary Club of San Francisco Board of Directors met on March 25, 2025 via Zoom. President Bob Hermann called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM. Nancy Graydon, Secretary, recorded the minutes.
In attendance were Gary Dales, Dan Davies, Stephen Geisheker, Nancy Graydon, President Bob Hermann, Bridget Mahoney, Margaret Miley, Maureen O'Shea, Todd St Vrain, Darlene Wilson, Ozan Yasavur, and Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Absent were Tim Hornbecker and Sunny Singh. Our guests were Executive Secretary Dora Dye and Christopher Wiseman — President of the San Francisco Rotary Foundation.

The Board reviewed and approved the February 25, 2025 minutes as presented.
Rotary District 5150 threw an Appreciation Party on April 27, 2025 to thank and recognize all major donors in our District. The party was held in Toby's Feed Barn at Point Reyes Station. Guests were treated to fresh seafood or vegetarian paella, assorted beverages, and cookies prepared by the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown. The keynote speaker was Sakina Dhorajiwala, a Rotary Peace Fellow.

As an early kickoff to San Francisco Pride, our May DEI Film Festival movie is Will & Harper. This powerful documentary follows actor Will Ferrell and writer Harper Steele on a 17-day road trip across the United States shortly after Harper’s gender transition when they share heartfelt conversations and moments of reflection. This film is rated R for language.
Scott Plakun, past President of our Club, will speak to us about why Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is of crucial importance to the future of Rotary. He will also lead a discussion about how our Club’s focus on DEI has benefitted and transformed the Club and what we can do to attract more diverse members.
Inika Mehra, the 2025 Miss San Francisco and the founder of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Alliance, joins us to speak about stress management and how unresolved emotions can manifest in our lives — impacting physical health, mental well-being, professional growth, and interpersonal relationships
Come and learn about the Enrichment Center of the Institute on Aging. The Enrichment Center offers social, cognitive, and physical activities for individuals living with dementia, allowing them to remain engaged and connected to the community while providing their caregivers with a much-needed break. After this tour, you can take a short 3-minute walk over to Presidio Bowl for our Club Social that same evening at 6 PM.

The annual District Conference where clubs in the District come together to celebrate the year's accomplishments under the leadership of District Governor Steve Wright will be held on May 16-18, 2025 in Santa Rosa, California. Among the traditional events will be Rotary Club Excellence awards and the traditional Governors’ “Passing of the Pick”! All members are encouraged to attend.
Join us for a reflective Walk for Peace in the towering redwoods of Muir Woods to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Speakers include Heidi Kühn and a representative from the National Park Service.
Join us for our Club's NEXT EVENING MEETING where we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at MoMo's. Please register yourself and your guests so that we can plan the space.
Come and enjoy nature, fresh air, and fellowship as we do some gardening to improve and enhance Rotary Meadow - a garden of native plants our Club planted at the summit of Mount Sutro in 2004. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Advanced registration is required.

The deadline is every Thursday at 5 PM, and this is a hard deadline so that I can get the issue of Grindings done in time for release on Sunday.
