EVENING MEETING HIGHLIGHTS August 21, 2025
President Frank Yoke III (Development | Serra Residential Center, Inc.) called our Club's monthly Evening Meeting at MoMo's to order at 6:38 PM.
 
Visiting Rotarians and Guests
This evening's Visiting Rotarians were Liz Mark from the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown; Federico Alvarez del Blanco from a Rotaract club in Spain; and Roberto Alvarez del Blanco from the Rotary Club of Lamorinda Sunrise in Spain. Our guests were Norman Gershenz, Hiroe Kobayashi, and Nahid Khodakarami. Also in attendance was former Member Bill Gregory. Welcome to all!
 
New Member Inducted
Kayla Trunecek and Tamour Khan joined President Frank to induct a new member. President Frank introduced Thomas Estruth (Ad Sales | KRON4). Thomas' father and grandfather are Rotarians, and Thomas has already joined several Committees in our Club. Thomas' mentor in Rotary is Tamour Khan. Rotarians in today's audience pledged to support Thomas on his Rotary journey. Please welcome Thomas when you see him at our meetings and events.

July 2025 Board Highlights
Rotary Club of San Francisco
President Frank Yoke called the meeting via Zoom to order at 4:02 p.m. Secretary Dora Dye recorded the minutes. A quorum was present. President Frank thanked all Board members for the great start to a new Rotary year and said that he was looking forward to the year ahead.
 
Approval of June 2025 Board Minutes
After amending the language regarding the bank resolution, the Board approved the June 17, 2025 meeting minutes.
 
2025-2026 Club Budget
Treasurer Gary Dales presented the budget for consideration and shared his recommendations. The Board approved the 2025-2026 Club Budget.

SERVICE PROJECT September 8 2025: Diaper Bag Assembly for Homeless Prenatal Program
Join us at this service opportunity to stuff diaper bags and organize diapers and wipes for giveaway to clients of the Homeless Prenatal Program. Event is limited to 6 people.
 
ROTARY LUNCHEON September 9, 2025: Club Assembly
Join President Frank Yoke and members of our Board at our 2025-2026 Club Assembly as we look at the road ahead. Our Club remains one of the top Rotary clubs in the world after 118 years and continues to make a difference in the world. Your assistance is needed so that the momentum will keep going. Join us to provide input and help.
 
 
Baby Showers for Homeless Prenatal Program: September 10, 2025
Join us at one or both of the Baby Showers at the Homeless Prenatal Program where we will give expectant mothers diaper bags filled with supplies. The party for Spanish speakers starts at 10 AM; the party for English speakers starts at 1 PM. Registration is limited to two Rotarians at each shower,
 
 
ROTARY DEI FILM FESTIVAL September 14, 2025: Life, Animated
Our September DEI Film Festival movie is Life, Animated, a powerful documentary about an autistic boy, who through Disney’s beloved characters and stories, learned how to make sense of the world and found his own voice. This film is recommended for ages 12 and up. Following the screening, there will be a group discussion over a pizza and salad dinner to reflect on the film’s themes and to share perspectives on how storytelling can create understanding and connection across all abilities.

Servant Leadership for Rotarians: September 20, September 27, and October 4, 2025
This September, Rotary District 5150 will begin offering the Servant Leadership for Rotarians program, a three-part series on three consecutive Saturdays, that can be used in Rotary and in our personal, business, or professional lives. Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy where the main priority of the leader is to enhance the growth, well-being, and success of the people they lead. 
 
EVENING MEETING: September 25, 2025
Join us for our Club's NEXT EVENING MEETING where we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship. SERVICE PROJECT September 27, 2025: Rotary Meadow Restoration
Come and enjoy nature, fresh air, and fellowship as we do some gardening to improve and enhance Rotary Meadow - a garden of native plants our Club planted at the summit of Mount Sutro in 2004. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Advanced registration is required.
