President Frank Yoke called the meeting via Zoom to order at 4:05 p.m. on March 24, 2026. Secretary Dora Dye recorded the minutes. In attendance were Gary Dales, Ann Daugherty, Dora Dye, Stephen Geisheker, Tim Hornbecker, Margaret Miley, Maureen O’Shea, Hana Xu Wang, Darlene Wilson, Ozan Yasavur, and President Frank Yoke, constituting a quorum. Our guests were Thomas Estruth and Sunny Singh. Absent were Bob Hermann, Stellie Kim, and Wendy Shew.

The Board approved the February 24, 2026 meeting minutes.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Gary Dales presented the Balance Sheet, the outstanding dues to date, and the Statement of Operations through March 24, 2026 for the Rotary Club of San Francisco. Regarding outstanding dues, the goal is to collect all outstanding dues. The Board then approved the March 2026 Treasurer’s Report as presented.
In May 2025, the Steering Committee expanded Emergency Services Day beyond our Club and moved this Event to an evening celebration at a new location with AT&T as a Community Sponsor. We even created a new logo. The 39th Annual Emergency Services Day opened on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Marines' Memorial Club and Hotel with an elegant reception offering beverages and tasty appetizers, an opportunity to meet our Heroes, and a chance to purchase special wines from the Wine Wall.
At 6:30 PM, President Frank welcomed the guests in the Hotel Ballroom and shared the impactful work of our Club. He introduced Past District 5150 Governor Laine Hendricks, who served as Emcee. PDG Laine talked about this special evening to honor Heroes who have made a difference and introduced the following special guests:

On this same evening, the San Francisco Giants will host Korean Heritage Night to celebrate the Korean community and culture. Immediately after this game will be fireworks. Learn about and experience Greek culture without having to fly to Greece. Join us at the Oakland Greek Festival to enjoy Greek customs, food, wine, music, dance, and tour The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension with fellow Rotarians and friends. Past District 5150 Governor and Past President of our Club Peter Lagarias will be the host and guide for this event. All are welcome.
In 1908, Homer Wood, founder of the Rotary Club of San Francisco, met with Frank Bilger of an Oakland rock quarry and paving company, and 23 other businessmen at the Hotel Metropole in downtown Oakland. From there, the Rotary Club of Oakland was born. On May 21, 2026, members and guests of the Rotary Club of San Francisco are invited to join the Rotary Club of Oakland at the Oakland Club's meeting. The speaker will be USF Professor Stephen Zunes, who will speak on the war on Iran. Prior to the meeting, there will be a special reception beginning at 11:30 AM to celebrate the Rotary Club of San Francisco (Club No. 2) and the Rotary Club of Oakland (Club No. 3). All are welcome.
On May 23, 2026, join Rotarians from District 5150 for an interactive workshop to inspire and reignite your Rotary service by introducing you to the concepts of positive peace and the many tools and resources available to build peaceful communities, neighborhoods, organizations and other environments where people can thrive.
Join us for our Club's NEXT EVENING MEETING where we will conduct some Club business, have dinner, and enjoy Rotary fellowship. There is no charge to attend this meeting, but each attendee pays individually for food and beverages ordered at MoMo's. Please register yourself and your guests so that we can plan the space.
KQED's morning radio news anchor Brian Watt joins us to discuss delivering the news and how this delivery may be 10 years from now. He joined the KQED News team in April 2016 and has won numerous awards for his work.
