For many years, Rotary District 5150 offered Potential Rotary Leaders Seminar (PRLS). Hundreds of Rotarians completed PRLS training and applied what they had learned as Club Presidents, Board Members, and District Leaders. The founders of PRLS, Betsy and Bill Koefoed of the Rotary Club of San Carlos, announced their retirement this past spring, and the final PRLS session began on July 19, 2025 through the end of this year. This September, Rotary District 5150 will begin offering the Servant Leadership for Rotarians program that can be used in Rotary and in our personal, business, or professional lives. Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy where the main priority of the leader is to enhance the growth, well-being, and success of the people they lead. It emphasizes serving others, fostering growth, and building strong relationships within a team. Providing service to others is the most important thing we do as Rotarians. Knowing how best to serve, follow, or lead is the key to making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Amy Everitt, president of Golden State Opportunity (GSO), joins us to discuss financial security for workers struggling to make ends meet. GSO is a nonprofit dedicated to ending poverty for Californians.

Rotaplast started as a world community service project of the Rotary Club of San Francisco in 1992-1993, and since then, has sponsored over 200 missions and helped over 20,000 children. Bring smiles to children around the world by participating in (or supporting) this tournament with Rotary clubs throughout our District 5150 and beyond. Funds raised will benefit the mission in New Delhi, India.
Come and join District 5150 Rotarians and friends for a Pickleball Social! Pickleball has become very popular in the U.S., because it's fun, easy to learn, and offers great exercise. The District has reserved six courts for 48 players, including beginner-friendly courts with loaner paddles and tutorials. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are included in the $30 registration fee.

Our September DEI Film Festival movie is Life, Animated, a powerful documentary about an autistic boy, who through Disney’s beloved characters and stories, learned how to make sense of the world and found his own voice. This film is recommended for ages 12 and up. Following the screening, there will be a group discussion over a pizza and salad dinner to reflect on the film’s themes and to share perspectives on how storytelling can create understanding and connection across all abilities.
